A recent KATV town hall brought agricultural leaders together to discuss the challenges reshaping farming across Arkansas.

The College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University, in collaboration with Riceland Foods, has launched its inaugural group of Riceland Scholars.

Riceland Foods reported over $1.15 billion in revenue to its members, staff and guests in attendance at the cooperative’s Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday at the Embassy Suites in Jonesboro, Ark. 

The farmer members of Riceland Foods, Inc. elected three new board members to its Board of Directors. Benjamin Nobles of Poplar Bluff, Mo. will serve as the new director representing District Four. Mikka Felty of Stanford, Ark. will serve as a director of District Two. Gary Sitzer of Weiner, Ark. will serve Riceland members in District Three.

Kevin McGilton, Chief of Staff, Vice President Government Affairs, traveled to Washington, D.C. April 25 - 27 with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Riceland Foods Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Noble testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

When asked about her thoughts on being part of a cooperative, Sheila said, “Knowing what you’re producing, feeding people, and taking care of families, it’s a good feeling.”

Helping his grandparents farm while growing up fueled Jimmy Brumley’s passion for the agriculture industry. He has transformed this passion into a 38-year career with Riceland Foods, serving today as the Newport Grain Drier manager.
