Last week, the White House held its first Great American Agriculture Celebration, bringing together farmers and agricultural leaders from across the country, who are responsible for producing our nation’s food, fuel, and fiber. The event underscored the vital role agriculture plays in supporting both the U.S. economy and national security. From rice fields across the Mid-South to operations nationwide, farmers continue to deliver despite an increasingly challenging economic landscape.
At the event, President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins highlighted key policy priorities aimed at providing meaningful support to U.S. agriculture. These included the potential for additional economic assistance for farmers, new guidance supporting the right to repair farm equipment, updated guidance on Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) sensors to improve reliability and reduce costs and downtime, and the highly anticipated release of updated Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard program. These efforts will build on the momentum from the One Big Beautiful Bill that passed last July.
These actions signal a clear recognition of the pressures farmers are facing today, and the need for practical, timely solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and expand market opportunities. Riceland Foods appreciates the opportunity to be part of these important discussions and remains committed to advocating for policies that strengthen U.S. agriculture and the farmers who make it possible.
