As Originator and Assistant Procurement Operations Manager, Misty has served the cooperative in a variety of roles over the years, bringing knowledge, experience, and empathy to support both internal teams and farmer-members. She consistently goes above and beyond in her work—maintaining member relations year-round, whether by visiting farms to secure signatures, delivering checks, or checking in to ensure operations are running smoothly. During harvest, Misty stepped in to help onboard and train new employees at the Jonesboro Drier, maintaining efficiency and creating a seamless experience for both bookkeepers and members. Her versatility, dedication, and positive attitude make her an invaluable part of Riceland.
Misty’s impact reaches far beyond daily operations. Even in challenging times for agriculture, she remains a calm, supportive presence, delivering clear information and striving for the best outcomes for members. Her coworkers describe her as someone with a servant’s heart—always ready to help her team, her members, and the cooperative as a whole.
Reflecting on her work, Misty says, “I love to see the people that I'm helping—whether it be the farmer-members who need something each day, and I'm able to help them, I'm able to serve them. I think I have a servant’s heart… I love my team members as well and I love to help them in any way that I can. The fact that we are helping feed the world sustainably is just a huge bonus.” When recognized for her contributions, she shares, “I was shocked—I mean absolutely honored—that I love what I do and that other people actually recognize that. So really honored.”
Misty Morris truly embodies what it means to be the Heart of the Coop. Her dedication, empathy, and commitment to serving others lift those around her, strengthen the cooperative’s mission, and leave a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.
