Chandler Holcomb is a lifelong Arkansan who grew up in Benton, a place not widely known for its ties to agriculture. But Chandler's upbringing looked a bit different from many of his peers. As a kid, he spent countless summer days on a row crop farm near Elaine, AR; experiences that sparked a lasting passion for agriculture. Although his time on the farm ended around age 12, the desire to work with and for Arkansas farmers never left.
After graduating from Benton High School in 2019, Chandler headed to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Business, focusing on Marketing & Management. While in college, he was also a dedicated member of the university’s bass fishing team, traveling across Arkansas and neighboring states to compete.
Post-graduation, Chandler returned home, unsure of his next steps. That changed when he came across a job posting for a sustainability coordinator at Riceland. Though he wasn’t entirely sure what the role entailed, he recognized Riceland’s importance to Arkansas row crop farmers and knew he wanted to be part of that mission. Just one month after earning his degree, Chandler joined the Riceland team, where he began serving farmer members through the sustainability department.
Since joining, Chandler has assisted in the implementation of the Riceland Carbon Ready™ program. He works directly with farmers across Arkansas and Missouri, collecting farm-level data and helping translate it into environmental assets sold to Riceland’s customers to support their sustainability efforts. The program has returned nearly $8.5 million to participating farmers in just three years.
Chandler enjoys spending time on the water bass fishing outside of work—whether in competition or for fun. When the weather gets cold, you’ll likely find him chasing ducks or crappie, unless his wife Grace has something else planned for them!
