Harvest Drier Network Update

As of today, rice harvest is roughly 30% complete. Soybean harvest has been a little slower than I expected, especially considering how many early beans were planted this year. I think most of us thought we'd be further along by now, but harvest has a way of doing things on its own schedule.

One thing I've heard from a lot of farmers over the last few weeks is just how dry it's been. We haven't had many rain showers, which has certainly helped keep combines running, but I've also heard concerns about rice drying down too fast in the field. That's something we'll continue to watch as harvest moves forward because overly dry rice can have an impact on milling yields.It's still early, but it's definitely something I’m concerned with.

On the drier side, our team is doing everything we can to get your crop in and provide the best service possible. The people working at our facilities understand how important this time of year is. Many of them have been through enough harvests to know that every load matters, and they're putting in long hours every day to keep grain moving. Harvest can be stressful for everyone involved, and there will always be challenges along the way, but I want you to know our employees are working hard to minimize delays and take care of our members. I couldn't be prouder of the effort they're putting in across Arkansas and Missouri.
