program overview

Riceland Carbon Ready™

The Riceland Carbon Ready program helps farmer-members deliver climate solutions for customers while earning rewards for current sustainable practices and support for adopting new ones. Launched in June 2022 in partnership with Arva Intelligence, the program captures farm-level data to help customers meet Scope 3 greenhouse gas reduction goals and create lasting benefits for U.S. farmers and their land.

Carbon Ready Highlights

Drive New Market Opportunities

Riceland Carbon Ready™ bridges the gap between on-farm practices and supply chain goals—helping our customers meet Scope 3 targets, verify claims, and earn consumer trust.

Since 2022, the Riceland Carbon Ready program has paid out nearly $8.5 million to farmers. Through this program, Riceland farmer-members are not only utilizing sustainable practices but are being rewarded for them.

next-gen impact program™

The Riceland Next‑Gen Impact Program™ is a USDA‑supported sustainability initiative delivered in partnership with Winrock International. The program supports rice farmers in Arkansas and Missouri who are advancing conservation practices that strengthen soil and water stewardship while helping expand markets for sustainably produced U.S. rice.

what is the next-gen impact program?

program overview

This USDA-supported program helps producers invest in on-farm sustainability by pairing conservation practice adoption with operational support designed to offset implementation costs.

The Riceland Next-Gen Impact Program™:

  • Builds on your existing participation in Riceland Carbon Ready™
  • Supports NRCS recognized conservation practices
  • Connects sustainability outcomes with market opportunity for U.S. rice

Farmer funding

Around $14 million will be directly disbursed to farmers through conservation rice premiums and incentives.

conservation rice premiums

Farmers committed to land and water stewardship will receive a $0.25 per bushel premium on up to 170bu/acre, directly enhancing their returns. This rice from enrolled fields must be delivered to Riceland Foods, Inc.

Conservation Rice incentives

Funding will be reimbursed to producers, who invest in financial optimization, technology and data utilization, crop planning services, equipment, and education. This funding will help reduce some of the cost barriers to implementing conservation practices.

Who is eligible?

To participate in the Year 1 of the Next-Gen Impact Program™, farmers must:

  • Be a Riceland member
  • Applicants must have participated in or signed up for Riceland’s Ingrain Good Sustainability initiative prior to the 2026 crop year
  • Provide FSA Records (578s, Maps, etc.) and Entity Information
  • Implement and document at least one eligible conservation practice on each enrolled field
  • Provide evidence and documentation of Conservation Rice Incentives

Year 1 enrollment is limited to producers already participating in the Riceland Carbon Ready™ Program. If you are not enrolled in Riceland Carbon Ready™ or other Ingrain Good® programs, you can enroll now to be eligible for future opportunities.

FAQs

Your most common questions, explained.
How does this program differ from other Riceland sustainability offerings?

The Riceland Next-Gen Impact Program™ is funded by the USDA under the Advancing Markets for Producers funding opportunity, and Riceland Carbon Ready™ is a privately funded program.

The Riceland Next-Gen Impact Program™ will be separate from Riceland Carbon Ready™; therefore, farmers will have the opportunity to participate in both programs in the 2026 growing season. Each program will have independent data collection, verification, and payment processes.

Will participation in this program interfere with my eligibility to participate in other USDA programs?

No. Participating in this program does not affect youreligibility for other USDA programs.

You may still enroll in NRCS programs such as CSP or EQIP that support conservation practices. However, you cannot receive reimbursement for the same supplies through both NRCS programs and our ConservationIncentives program.

If you have fields enrolled in other USDA-AMP programs (such as USA Rice/Ducks Unlimited or the Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture), those specific fields are not eligible for enrollment in theRiceland Next-Gen Impact Program™.

Am I subject to Payment Limitation or Adjusted Gross Income Limitations from participating in this program?

No, awards made pursuant to this Funding Opportunity are not subject to any payment limitations or Adjusted Gross Income limitations.
